What Our Customers Are Saying
I didn’t think I needed “yet another screen capture” application…
What surprised me was that ScreenSteps was completely different
I was able to write documentation in a matter of 10 minutes or less. Normally I’d have to take screenshots then put them in some word-based application. Then format them, and before I knew it 45 minutes had passed. With Screensteps it was, and has always been a breeze. If I get a customer who’s confused, I simply rev up my ScreenSteps and in 10 minutes that customer has a clear idea of what to do next.

Before I used to take screenshots and they would go to my desktop, it was a total mess. Then with ScreenSteps every screenshot was already a step and I could edit the image in any photo editor and save it back to the step. That was huge for me and made the process of writing tutorials much easier and enjoyable.

We had used other capture products.
But with other tools the process from capture to documentation takes quite a few steps. In ScreenSteps we easily move from the capture to documentation to publishing in just a few minutes.

As a custom web-development shop, we create unique customer-specific applications. At the end of every job, we provide our customers with step-by-step guides on how to use their applications.
Before ScreenSteps we used screen capture programs and put together documents, then saved them as .pdfs for our clients. This was functional but incredibly time consuming. I had to capture or copy the file, then insert or paste it into the document then line it up correctly. Screensteps provides a very intuitive interface that allows me to quickly take a screenshot, then it automatically places it in the document and brings me right back to the tutorial I’m working on.
I love the speed at which I can make tutorials, especially for unique situations, such as custom built applications. I also love the way ScreenSteps publishes to blogging platforms like WordPress. That is really helpful for both my personal site, and our business site.
Our clients are always very pleased with the instructions we provide, and because they’re so easy to make, we’re able to build comprehensive tutorials for every project.

ScreenSteps is truly a must have application for anyone who must provide training and support to clients and/or customers.

When I first saw ScreenSteps I thought it was too easy to be true.
But it is absolutely true: very easy to use and with so many ways to use it, unbelievable.

Being a Mac user, it’s a tough sell to have Mac only programs, because one of my bosses is a PC user. Being cross platform is big in my industry. The cross platform nature of the software allows us to run with it.

I sat down one of our people who had never used ScreenSteps and said, “Make the help file.” In 5 minutes she was familiar with ScreenSteps and in about 10 or 15 minutes she had produced the help file. I thought that was pretty remarkable. It’s just simple to use. I think that anybody can get up to speed on ScreenSteps really fast.

I love software applications, and the kind I love best are the cross platform ones so everyone can play. I test out new apps every day (I once added 3 apps to my Blackberry while waiting on a freeway off-ramp!) so when my friend Niraj pointed me to ScreenSteps I thought I’d give it a spin.
I had lots of screen snapshot apps (I did a whole show about them once) so I thought this was yet another one. I love the category, but with a yawn I gave it a try. Imagine my amazement as I realized that ScreenSteps actually replaces Microsoft Word in creating documentation! No more fighting with word wrap around images, no more wondering why the image suddenly jumped to the end of the file or other annoyances!
I find now that I’m excited when i find an excuse to make documentation – from a short instruction in an email, to a long tutorial on how to use a complex tool such as Audacity for my Podcast, I use ScreenSteps. I use it constantly to help my listeners, my friends, and my family who sometimes need a little nudge on the Mac or Windows!
