ScreenSteps 2.6 Update Helps Customers Create Professional Documentation With Expanded Export Options

ScreenSteps 2.6 adds Microsoft Word/Apple Pages Export Options as well Video Embed Feature

— Blue Mango Learning Systems, a leading provider of innovative, low-cost customer support solutions, today announced the General Availability of ScreenSteps Desktop 2.6, the most effective solution for quickly and easily creating tutorials and guides that decrease customer support requests.

Export to Microsoft Word/Apple Pages in Office Open XML Format

Version 2.6 now allows users of ScreenSteps Pro to export lessons and manuals to Microsoft Office, Apple Pages or any other application that supports the Office Open XML format. Users can completely customize their Word templates giving users all of the ease of use of ScreenSteps combined with the customized formatting available in many word processors. “Our customers have always loved how easy it is to create lessons and manuals in ScreenSteps. But many have wanted more control over the layout and formatting of the end result. With ScreenSteps 2.6 we are addressing this request in a big way”, said Greg DeVore, Co-founder, Blue Mango Learning Systems. “Users can now set up custom templates that adhere exactly to the styling guides required by their organizations. Their output can look exactly like they need it to. This new flexibility is going to allow ScreenSteps to move further into enterprise organizations that have strict styling requirements.”

Embed Videos From Popular Video Sharing Services

Many ScreenSteps users post their lessons to blogs or export them as html. In previous versions there was no way to easily embed video content in the lessons they were creating. With ScreenSteps 2.6 users can insert video embed code from services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler or Screencast.com and then post their lessons directly to their blog, export to HTML or publish to ScreenSteps Live, part of the ScreenSteps Support Suite.
“Video embedding is a feature that our users have been asking for for a long time. The ability to mix videos with still images easily and efficiently makes creating tutorials even easier,” continued Greg DeVore.

Pricing and Availability

ScreenSteps 2.6 is available immediately. Blue Mango Learning Systems offers a free, no-obligation 30-day trial on both the ScreenSteps 2.6 Desktop application and the ScreenSteps Live hosted service for publishing, distribution and collaboration on ScreenSteps Lessons. Two versions of ScreenSteps Desktop are available, ScreenSteps Standard for $39.95 and ScreenSteps Pro for $79.95. Future customers can download a free trial at http://www.screensteps.com.
